Module Installation

Installing the modules for the HI6000-2 system is simple and safe. Just disconnect the device from the power supply, remove the mounting screws, and insert the desired module into the housing. Once the locking mechanism clicks into place, the module is securely installed and ready for analysis. To protect any unused housings, it is recommended to use the empty covers provided.

Measurement

Choose the unit of measurement:

  • pH: pH, mV
  • ORP: mV, Rel.mV
  • ISE: ppt, ppm, ppb, g/L, mg/L, μg/L, mg/mL, μg/mL, M, mol/L, mmol/L, %w/v (user-defined)

Reading Modes

  • Direct and indirect/Autohold
  • For ISE: Addition Note, Subtraction Note, Addition of Analyte, Subtraction of Analyte

Calibration

pH Calibration using:

  • Up to 5 points with Hanna Instruments and NIST buffers (pH 1.68, 3.00, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, 12.45)
    Up to 5 custom buffers
  • mV calibration using a single point to calibrate the offset
  • ISE calibration using up to 5 points with nominal standard values and/or up to five custom solutions (provided by the user)

Recommended Probes

For pH measurements, we recommend the pH electrode HI1131B or HI1048B, along with the HI7662-TW temperature probe to be used with these modules.

  • HI1131B is designed to provide reliable results across a wide range of laboratory applications. The high-temperature resistant glass body and spherical tip ensure optimal contact with the sample.
  • HI1048B is designed for a wide range of laboratory applications with difficult samples, featuring the CPS system to prevent junction blockages.
  • HI7662-TW The stainless steel temperature probe allows the meter to automatically compensate pH measurements based on temperature (ATC).

ISE Electrode Measurements

Ion-selective electrodes (ISE) are advanced sensors designed to directly measure the concentration of specific ions present in a solution, ensuring precise and reliable analysis.

The HI6000-2 module supports the use of ISE electrodes, allowing for detailed and customized analysis across a broad range of chemical and industrial applications. Additionally, the module also offers incremental ISE methods, such as Addition Note, Subtraction Note, Addition of Analyte, and Subtraction of Analyte, further enhancing the precision and flexibility of the analyses.

Hanna Instruments offers a wide range of ISE electrodes, ensuring the ideal solution for every type of ionic measurement.
